Two Weeks Before Your Wedding Day

Preparing for your wedding day doesn’t just happen overnight. You’ve been planning this for MONTHS so let’s set you up for success on your wedding day with what to do two weeks before your day.

Pack your bags & prep your details.

This is the week to pack those bags and prep all of your details for your wedding day.  To make your photographer's life a little easier, put a Tupperware box of all the details they have to photograph: your shoes, your jewelry, the wedding invitations, allllll the juicy goods you have that you want to be photographed while you’re getting ready.  Don't forget your save the dates and any other potential wedding calligraphy/stationery that you’ve created.

This is also the time to make sure your vows and any letters to your family members or wedding party as well as your fiance are written.  Having your vows written out to be photographed with your details is so important and another incredible way to preserve your vows.

Another way to thank your family members and wedding party is to write them each a letter to be opened on the morning of your wedding.  It doesn’t have to be anything big, just a nice acknowledgment of all of their work and help while planning and how much it means to you that they will be there on your wedding day.

Marriage Licenses.

Make sure to check in with your Officiant about what you need to do to have your marriage license complete.  Gather all the proper paperwork and either get it done this week, or schedule to get it done within the next two weeks.

Check-in with your vendors before your wedding date.

With two weeks to go, send a nice big email with all of your wedding vendors attached. I’ve got a quick template for you to use so let’s just dive into that:

Hi all,

We are SO excited for our wedding day!

I wanted to include you all in an email to give you the final copy of our timeline, see if you had any questions and let you all know just how pumped we are for our wedding day!

Attached to this email, you’ll find our timeline and some more important details for our wedding day in JUST two weeks.

Here are our cell phone numbers once more and the phone numbers of two key contacts on our day in case we’re super busy leading up to our wedding day.

Can’t wait to see you all!

Prepare for things to come after your wedding day.

Before your wedding day comes and goes and folks are asking for all the things, let’s tidy things up so you’re ready to ease into that post-wedding-day high and enjoy it!

Purchase enough “Thank You” cards so you have them ready to go when you unpack your wedding gifts. You could even address and prep them, using your guest list, so all you have to do is fill in some individual information.  Make sure to snag the link from your photographer for your wedding gallery so you can tuck it (and maybe a business card) into your thank you cards. You could also update your wedding website with a big thank you and the website URL for your wedding gallery.

Now is also the time to grab all the documents you’ll need for any honeymoon or travel plans. If you’re traveling internationally, snag that passport, exchange some cash for the local currency, make sure you have an ID ready to go, and have everything packed.

One Week Before Your Wedding Day

A week before your wedding is the time to set that tone for your wedding day. Start the week out by having a spa day to relax and rest your mind before heading back into your workweek and wedding planning.  Make sure to have a date night just the two of you this week too!

Time to primp up for your big day and have some Spa time for yourself.

Now is the time to get that fancy wax you were thinking about, your tan at a tanning salon, a haircut if you were needing one, any fun facials you were thinking of, eyelash extensions and any other primping done before your wedding day.  Don’t wait till the end of the week to get it done — you’ll want to do it the Sunday/Monday before your wedding day.

Getting your primping done on that Sunday/Monday before your day allows things like self-tanner to settle, your skin to relax from any inflammation after a wax or facial and more. It’ll also give you a really calming way to start your week.  We’re going to help you make this a little less hectic of a week, and starting it out with a spa day for you and your fiance will help ensure it’s a relaxing and stress-free week leading up to your big day.

Check-in with your wedding venue and prep your wedding dresses.

Now is the time to check in with your wedding venue about any impact the weather might make or other last-minute changes.  Make sure your wedding dresses and other attire, if you have multiple ones, are prepped, bagged and ready to go towards the end of the week.  Give your wedding attire some time to breath during the week though — hidden away from your partner.

The Day Before Your Wedding Day

This may also be the day you have your rehearsal dinner, so it might be a little busy.  Make sure to carve out some time to journal, read, take a warm bath — do something for you to settle your mind and your soul before the big day. You’ve made it to your wedding day and you’re going to have the BEST time on your day.
